DAY ONE; WELCOME TO KENYA
Welcome to Kenya! Welcome to the heart of Africa. As you step off the plane and onto Kenya soil, prepare to be captivated by the vibrant tapestry of culture, wildlife and natural beauty that the country holds. From the bustling streets of Nairobi to the sweeping plains of Maasai Mara, your journey through Kenya promises to be a kaleidoscope of unforgettable experiences. Get ready to embark on an adventure like no other as you immerse in the sights, sounds and flavours of this extra ordinary destination.
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on day 1 of 7 days Kenya bush safari, you will be met and welcomed by a representative from Alistar Expeditions who will brief you about this Kenya safari as you head to Ibis Style in Nairobi for an overnight depending on your arrival time.
DAY 2: NAIROBI TO NAKURU NATIONAL PARK.
After a restful night’s sleep at Ibis Style Hotel, start your day with a sumptuous breakfast. Savour the flavours of freshly brewed coffee, tropical fruits, delectable pastries, setting the stage for another day of adventure and discoveries. Proceed to check out at 8:00 am.
Journey towards Lake Nakuru National Park. En-route, soak in the ever-changing landscapes of Kenya from rolling hills to lush forests before arriving at Lake Nakuru National Park.
Upon arrival, you shall head straight to Lake Nakuru Lodge which is going to be your home away from home for the first day of your safari. Located on a range of hills that form the western limits of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, the lodge offers spectacular views over the vastness of Africa. Lake Nakuru lodge also overlooks Lake Nakuru and its surrounding.
Head for an afternoon adventure in Lake Nakuru National Park. An afternoon game viewing in a safari land cruiser is a great way to enjoy your Lake Nakuru Safari. Most of the animals will be out searching for dinner. If you are lucky, you might film several hunts.
On the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, lies the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park. You can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges.
DAY 3; NAKURU NATIONAL PARK TO MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE.
You shall wake up for an early morning breakfast at 7:00 AM to refuel for your next adventure. You will then depart from Nakuru and journey towards the iconic Maasai Mara National Reserve. Along the way keep your eyes peeled for glimpses of Kenya’s beauty. Your drive will cover around 221 kilometres hence it will take approximately four and a half hours to arrive at your destination.
Upon arrival you will proceed to check-in at AA Lodge Maasai Mara where you will be greeted with warm hospitality and breath-taking views of the wilderness. Take some time to enjoy your lunch then proceed to relax and unwind as you explore the amenities at AA Lodge Mara.
Settle into pure comfort in one of the charming tents for your relaxation. The camp also has a large swimming pool with spectacular view of the expansive landscapes with the sunset views. There is also a restaurant, lounge & bar where you can enjoy meals and drinks. Additionally, there is a large bonfire circle where local dancers and storytellers meet guests for entertainment and storytelling.
Since your arrival will be in good time you will relax, unwind and enjoy the facilities for the rest of the remaining time.
Alternatively, you can decide to head out for your first game drive in the reserve. An afternoon game viewing in a safari land cruiser is a great way to start your Maasai Mara adventure. Most of the animals will be out searching for dinner. If you are lucky, you might film a hunt.
The view of the Masai Mara for the first time can be overwhelming so take it all in and don’t forget to take photos. It will soon be dark and your guide will drive you back to your camp for dinner and hopefully a good night’s sleep.
DAY 4: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE IN MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE WITH A PICNIC LUNCH
You shall wake up early by 6:00 a.m. to savour a hearty breakfast, without wasting time you shall embark on your first morning game drive in Maasai Mara. Get ready for an unforgettable safari adventure as you delve into the heart of Maasai Mara and discover its untamed beauty.
Every turn of the trail will unveil new and captivating scenes. So much so like the evening game drives, morning game drives are an overflow of wildlife, birds and unique ambiences. Sunrise mainly makes this one a little more memorable. Your exclusive open roof top vehicle traverses the breath-taking panorama, exposing you to varieties of wildlife and beautiful vegetation. With the expertise of our experienced guide, you will traverse the vast plains and riverine vegetation in search of Mara’s most elusive inhabitants.
This morning drive is the most rewarding game drives in Masai Mara since you will find most animals very active and fresh looking for food of the day in open savannah grassland. Keep your camera ready as you witness impalas lounging in the golden grasslands, cheetahs on the hunt and herds of wildebeest and zebras moving across the landscapes.
Take a break for a picnic lunch amidst the wilderness, surrounded by the sights and sounds of African bush. Your game drive continues shortly after lunch. The afternoon game drive shall take you west, across Mara’s central plains. Herbivores such as elands, giraffes, topi, wildebeests, impalas, gazelles and warthogs are among the animals you can expect to see. The migration is the only remaining multi-species migration worldwide.Feel free to ask your guide to stop for you to take better photos or a video of something interesting. If you are a bird watcher, the Masai Mara has over 400 species of birds. Be sure to carry your binoculars for this.
Head back to your camp for dinner and overnight stay. As dinner time approaches you shall gather at the restaurant to enjoy a satisfying meal. Their meals are meticulously curated to accommodate the diverse dietary preferences and restrictions of travellers. With a fusion of global culinary mastery, the camp ensures a burst of tastes and aromas that enchant and satisfy every individual. Sunrise to sunset, each meal is a vibrant celebration of the rich culinary heritage of Kenya, promising an unforgettable gastronomic experience.
DAY 5: MAASAI MARA TO AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Proceed to check out at 8:00 am.
After two exhilarating days in Maasai Mara, bid farewell to this wildlife paradise and journey towards Amboseli National Park. En-route, soak in the ever-changing landscapes of Kenya from rolling hills to lush forests before arriving at AA Lodges Amboseli.
“Home of African Elephants”
Crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, the Amboseli National Parks is one of Kenya’s most popular parks. The name “Amboseli” comes from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust”, and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands.
If you’re looking for that iconic safari photograph of long-tusked African elephants or a journey of giraffes on dry Savannah plains with Africa’s tallest mountain as a backdrop, Amboseli is the place to snap it!
Upon arrival you shall proceed to check in at AA Amboseli Lodge and grab a sumptuous freshly prepared lunch.
AA Amboseli Lodge is located next to Amboseli National Park and a few minutes’ drive to Kimana gate. The ideal location of the lodge ensures you have a breath-taking morning and evening view of Mt. Kilimanjaro as all soul structures are designed to face its majesty. The set-up of the lodge also gives clients an advantage of having a close view of wild animals passing by like zebras, ostrich, giraffes and gazelles. The lodge is electric fenced ensuring guests are safe as they mesmerize the beauty of mother earth.

Dinner is yet another time to make new friends or reminisce on a great day you just had. After dinner, you will sip your drinks around a massive bonfire as you take in some entertainment from Masai dancers.
DAY 6; GAME DRIVE AT AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Begin your morning with a hearty breakfast at AA Lodges, where you can enjoy panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro as the sun rises over the savannah. Shortly after breakfast, set out for an early morning game drive—this is the prime time to spot elephants, lions, cheetahs, and other wildlife as they are most active before the midday heat. Spend the morning exploring the park’s diverse ecosystems, from the dusty plains to the lush wetlands that attract countless bird species and hippos.
Around midday, return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest, perhaps lounging by the pool or enjoying the tranquil surroundings. In the late afternoon, embark on another game drive to catch the golden hour light, which provides perfect photography conditions and increases the chances of observing predators on the move.
As the day winds down, head to Observation Hill for sweeping views of the park and the marshes dotted with wildlife. Return to AA Lodges in the evening for a warm dinner, and relax under the stars as you recount the day’s adventures around a campfire or in the comfort of your room.
DAY 7; DEPARTURE
This day marks the end of your 7 days 6 nights Kenya bush safari. After a relaxing night’s sleep, wake up to a final breakfast at around 7:00 a.m. You will proceed to check out at 8:00 a.m. Depart Amboseli National Park, the sun-kissed haven that has become a cherished home away from home. The memories created and the bonds formed during this exceptional retreat will forever be etched in the hearts and minds of all who participated in this extraordinary journey.
Upon arrival in Nairobi your assigned professional safari guide from Alistar Expeditions will drop you off in Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your flight back to your destination. This will then mark the end of your safari. He will proceed to bid a fond goodbye.
