Crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, the Amboseli National Parks is one of Kenya’s most popular parks. The name “Amboseli” comes from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust”, and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands. They can also visit the local Maasai community who live around the park and experience their authentic culture.
If you’re looking for that iconic safari photograph of long-tusked African elephants or a journey of giraffes on dry Savannah plains with Africa’s tallest mountain as a backdrop, Amboseli is the place to snap it!

The second day of your safari is wholly dedicated to game drive. The day starts with a sumptuous breakfast at 7:30 a.m.Without wasting time you are in the wild partaking in the exciting morning game drive. As always, sunrise, wildlife and the striking scenery make every moment of early morning game drive picture perfect. It is also important to mention that no two game drives are the same since animals are always moving.
This morning drive is the most rewarding game drives in Amboseli since you will find most animals very active and fresh looking for food of the day in open savannah grassland.
After the sun gets hot most animals go near river banks to quench their thirst and cool themselves while the cats go in hidden areas to relax and rest. You will span far and wide into the plain grassland, heading east to the sandy thickets searching for the elephants.
Wildlife and all that jazz later, you unwind by taking your lunch in a perfect picnic spot as directed by your guide.
Your afternoon game drive continues shortly after lunch. This soul stirring spectacle involves several lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and many other animals who are more than eager to bloody the savannah. The drive will span till evening when you can take advantage of the sunset and the tranquil ambience to take some photos. You shall head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
