3 Days Masai Mara Wildebeest Migration Safari

Day One; Pick up from Airport to Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After meet and greet at the airport or your hotel you will head for Maasai Mara. Embark on a journey to the most beautiful and iconic reserve in Kenya, Maasai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy the scenic view along the way to Masai Mara.

The journey covers 230KM hence it will take approximately 4 and a half to 5 hours to your destination.

Mid-day 

Stop over will be at the Great Rift Valley view point. A breathtaking point that offers a glimpse into geological wonders of East Africa. Capture and take in the scenic beauty that has captivated travelers for centuries. The view is a highlight to Masai Mara that makes you cherish the ancient forces that brought the iconic beauty of the remarkable landscape. You can buy some souvenirs at the view point.

Afternoon

Arrive at Jambo Mara Safari Lodge in time for lunch and check in at Jambo Mara Safari Lodge. After a brief rest, head out for your first game drive. Get a taste of what’s to come as you search for elephants, giraffes, lions and the first group of wildebeest and zebra 

Evening

Return to camp for dinner. Enjoy a relaxed evening around the bonfire or in the lounge, under the African sky.

Day Two; Full-Day Game Drive – Migration and Big Cats.     

  Morning to Late Afternoon:

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. Today is dedicated to tracking the migration and exploring deeper into the Mara. Visit key areas like the Mara River to witness the dramatic river crossings where wildebeest face crocodile-filled waters and lurking predators.

Witness one of nature’s greatest shows on Earth—the annual wildebeest migration in the Maasai Mara. Every year, over 1.5 million wildebeest, accompanied by zebras and gazelles, thunder across the vast savannahs from Tanzania’s Serengeti into Kenya’s Maasai Mara in search of greener pastures. This breathtaking journey, often dubbed the “Great Migration,” is filled with dramatic river crossings, heart-pounding predator encounters, and awe-inspiring scenery.

Keep your camera ready for lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and vast herds stretching across the plains. Your guide will find prime spots for wildlife action and scenic views.

Evening:

Return to your camp. Enjoy a delicious dinner and perhaps a storytelling session with the guides about the day’s sightings.

Day three ; Morning Safari & Return to Nairobi

Early Morning:

You will have breakfast at the hotel then proceed to check out and bring your bags with you. Have one last game drive and begin your drive back to Nairobi, with a stop en route for lunch and rest. 

Afternoon:

Arrive in Nairobi. Transfer to the airport for your international departure or drop-off at your hotel.
